BUILD STORY
Purchased in September 2012, Elle has evolved into a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle restomod with modern power, suspension, braking and comfort. The Smeding Performance 383ci small-block produces 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, paired with a Phoenix 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission and Moser Ford 9-inch rear end. Ridetech air suspension and Baer brakes support the chassis, while the interior by The Shop LLC, SCAT seats, custom EVOD dash and Ultra-Carbon components complete the build.
BUILD SPECIFICATIONS
Smeding Performance 383ci small-block Chevrolet rated at 500 hp and 500 lb-ft. The engine package includes forged reverse-dome pistons, a Mutha Thumpr camshaft, 750 CFM double-pumper carburetor, Holley mechanical fuel pump, MSD distributor and MSD 6A Digital ignition. A 168-tooth SFI flexplate, ARP hardware and black powder-coated engine components round out the package.
Phoenix Transmission Products 700R4 automatic overdrive with a performance torque converter, paired with a Moser Ford 9-inch rear end.
Ridetech Level 2 A-body air suspension with front and rear MUSCLEbars, RidePro e3 air management and a 5-gallon air tank.
13-inch Baer AFX T4 front brakes and a 13-inch Baer AFX SS4+ two-piece rear package. Hydratech Level III hydraulic brake assist is paired with a 1-1/8-inch bore master cylinder.
Staggered Boze Tach wheels: 19-inch front with Nitto Invo 245/40ZR19 tires and 20-inch rear with Nitto Invo 295/35ZR20 tires.
Ultra-Carbon hood, trunk lid and wheel tubs.
Interior by The Shop LLC with SCAT seats, custom door and rear panels, center console, package tray and trunk treatment. Dynamat provides sound and heat insulation.
Custom dash built by EVOD with AutoMeter American Muscle gauges: 160-mph speedometer, 8,000-rpm tachometer, fuel level, oil pressure, water temperature and voltmeter.
Tilt steering column and a 14-inch black leather steering wheel with black-anodized hub and matching horn-button components.
Vintage Air Gen IV climate control and dual electric cooling fans with adjustable thermostat control.
NEXT UP / PLANNED
The 4.56 gearset is waiting to go into the Moser Ford 9-inch rear end. Installation is next up; these gears are not currently installed.
